Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Yesterday was another losing day, with the free picks going 2-3 for -0.70 units.  AccuScore didn’t have a good night either, going 5-10 in the NBA, and 49-50 in college basketball.  If you followed the advice I have been giving in this column though, you would have gone 3-4 on the NBA sides, and 10-6 on the college basketball over/unders, which is a considerably better result.

NY Islanders +139 - Win
Orlando +168 - Loss
Phoenix -3.5 - Loss
Portland State / Northern

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

A 2-3 day yesterday brings the YTD total in the negative.  Monday and Tuesday hasn’t been good to me the last two weeks, but I’m hoping for another great Wednesday.  AccuScore did well yesterday, winning in both the NBA and college basketball, and predicting 7 out of 9 games correctly in the NHL.

Chicago +120 - Loss
San Antonio -10.5 - Win
Boston +100 - Loss
Wichita State / Indiana State Over 122.5 - Win
Akron / Miami OH Over 124 - Loss

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Yesterday was a bad day for the picks column.  Colorado lost 4-0, La Salle and St Josephs put up almost 100 points in the first half to coast to an easy over, and Portland and San Francisco barely covered the over.  With the return of the NBA today should produce a better outcome.

Colorado +121 - Loss
La Salle / St Josephs Under 148 - Loss
Portland / San Francisco Over 130 - Win

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

There were no picks yesterday.  I didn’t get a chance to post until around 12:45, and a lot of the games I liked were 12:00 or 1:00 games, so the posting would have been pointless.  Saturday capped off the week on a down note, going 2-3 for -1.18 units.  That brought the weekly total to 12-14 for -1.54 units, which isn’t bad since the first two days started 1-7.  Florida and Edmonton both lost close games, one of those games could have been the

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Yesterday was the third winning day in a row for this column, bringing this week’s record to 10-11 for -0.36 units.  Los Angeles had a pretty solid win, going up 3-2 in the first period, and winning 6-3 to extend their hot streak.  Yale had a pretty solid win, but the college basketball totals had a bad night, including the Brown over.

Los Angeles +122 - Win
Brown / Pennsylvania Over 138.5 - Loss
Yale -1.5 - Win

Yesterday:  2-1, +1.13 units

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

A 3-2 day yesterday brings the weekly total to 8-10 for -1.49 units.  That's a lot better than the 1-7 start to the week.  Hopefully this weekend will cap off another winning week of picks.

Tampa Bay +138 - Win
Pittsburgh +132 - Loss
Washington State / Oregon Over 119 - Win
Idaho State / Portland State Over 131.5 - Win
New Orleans / Arkansas State Under 150 - Loss

Yesterday: 3-2, +1.20 units
Weekly Total: 8-10, -1.49 units

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Yesterday was a great bounce back day, with the picks going 4-1, almost going 5-0 had it not been for Cleveland’s fourth quarter collapse.  All of the picks covered with ease.  Chicago won 7-2, Washington held a big first half lead, then withstood a comeback in the third quarter, holding on for a win in the fourth.  LSU and Florida covered the over by 20 points, and New Mexico and San Diego State went to 136, although the line had gone down to 131.5 by the end of the

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Ouch.  That’s all I can really say about yesterday.  AccuScore won in the NBA and NCAAB, and went 1-1 on the split picks in the NHL.  Yesterday was just sloppy on my part.  I took Ottawa, despite saying you should avoid the SV/ML picks.  I took Seton Hall, despite saying the NCAAB O/U picks were better.  I guess the only thing I can say is that tonight is a good night to get back on track.

Los Angeles +145 &

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Yesterday was a bad way to start the week, going 0-3 with my picks.  The unfortunate circumstance that I have with this column is that I am trying to select a small amount of winners from a large amount of predictions.  AccuScore went 19-17 last night on all sports.  I don’t know the percentage of picking 3 losers out of a 19-17 night, but I’m sure my odds would be pretty good to get at least one pick.  I guess you’ll have those nights, just

Recapping Yesterday's Daily Picks

Despite going 2-3 for a small loss, I feel yesterday’s picks were a disappointment.  I got home shortly before 1:00, meaning I could have posted picks for 1:00 games that no one could have played, or I could have picked games for later in the day, which is what I did.  The problem there was that the 1:00 games were some of my favorites for the day, while some of the games below were further down the list.

Los Angeles ended up winning in a shootout, saving the day from being absolutely
