QUARTERBACKS With injuries to Brian Westbrook look for Donovan McNabb to continue putting up big numbers and he is 6th in our rankings just behind the “stars” Rodgers, Warner, Manning, Brady, and Brees. Philip Rivers is obviously a full-time starter but he may have a tough run in the fantasy playoffs with match-ups @Dallas, vs Cincinnati, @Tennessee (bad defensive stats, still good potentially) and Washington. There is no reason to believe Brett Favre will not continue putting up big numbers and he has only 1 potentially bad weather game on the schedule (@ Chicago in Week 16). Other than that he is at home in a dome or in warm weather. If your league penalizes for interceptions then Jay Cutler (ranked 13th) is not someone to rely on as he is projected for 10 more interceptions over his final 7 games. Matt Ryan is down to 20th amongst Fantasy QBs and it could be rough playing without Michael Turner. Without his running, Ryan could find himself in more 3rd and long situations. Joe Flacco had a great start but with games @GB, vs the Colts and 2 vs the Steelers he may be held under double digit fantasy points 3 or 4 more games this year. RUNNING BACKS Chris Johnson should continue to dominate and is our projected #1 or #2 RB in every single remaining week. Maurice Jones-Drew and Adrian Peterson are also going to light it up the rest of the season. Ray Rice and Frank Gore round out the top 5. Both put up good running stats, but are also primary receivers who are projected for well over 200 receiving yards the rest of the season. Cedric Benson is 9th in the list but this could change pending his injury status. Reports are he’ll be good to go in Week 11, but if he is hurt then his value obviously falls. Same goes for Michael Turner. We are currently assuming he will be out for Week 11 but this has not been determined. Justin Forsett has had back-to-back strong weeks and with Julius Jones injured he is projected as a Top 15 RB. Jamaal Charles is also a Top 20 RB now that he is the starter for KC. While Reggie Bush’s re-emergence has helped him return to the Top 25 Fantasy RB rankings, it does take touches away from Pierre Thomas. We also want to keep tracking the Ryan Moats – Steve Slaton situation. Right now we project for shared touches, but this could change if Slaton stops fumbling. WIDE RECEIVERS The Top 10 is relatively unchanged. Anquan Boldin returned from injury and he is now back in the Top 10 assuming he can stay healthy. He has some favorable match-ups including 2 Rams games, the Lions, and Titans on his remaining schedule. Miles Austin is still a Top 15 WR despite the team targeting Roy Williams more. After Williams fumbled and dropped catch-able balls hopefully Dallas will stop forcing the ball to Williams and allow Austin to be the true #1. Speaking of Roy Williams, despite his 100 receiving yards we do not project him to be a Top WR this year. The team is not better when they force the ball to Williams and we expect the Cowboys to stop trying to make him their #1 WR. Calvin Johnson is only ranked 25th despite his 8 receptions last week. Perhaps due to injury, he does not seem to be getting that big explosive play that you know he is capable of when healthy. With Stafford shaky at QB Johnson may not get the TDs needed to have a strong finish. It is a little surprising to see Sidney Rice not ranked higher. He destroyed the Lions but will face tougher defenses going forward and there are a lot of other receivers on the team and you cannot expect for him to be targeted enough to be a Top 15 WR. TIGHT ENDS Brent Celek continues his strong play and as the Eagles running game struggles with injuries the passing game and Celek’s targets could increase even more. The Bears season may be going down the toilet but Greg Olsen is seeing his fantasy value increase as his targets go up. Olsen is actually forecasted for more fantasy points than Jason Witten and Heath Miller. Todd Heap is a great receiving TE with great hands, but the Ravens have been scoring on the ground in the Red Zone and Baltimore has some tough defenses on their schedule. Heap may have Top 7 TE talent, but he is not in the Top 12 in the fantasy rankings. Fred Davis is a Top 15 TE option as long as Chris Cooley is out. |
